Cold Weather Carbine/Pistol.

Alexander, NY

8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Our cold weather carbine/pistol course of instruction will introduce you to unique considerations associated with employing your carbine and pistol in the cold weather of the Northeastern U.S. We will familiarize you with the aforementioned considerations and guide you through adaptive concepts and skills to effectively operate your carbine and pistol in cold weather environments. We will address:

  • Impact of cold weather on the function of your carbine, pistol, optic(s), and ammunition
  • Manipulating your carbine and pistol in cold weather garments
  • Staging gear on your body to facilitate movement and reloads with additional layers of clothing present
  • Working through malfunctions unique to cold weather environments
  • Movement with poor footing due to snow, ice, and/or mud
  • Fighting from conventional and unconventional positions in cold weather gear
  • Other related concepts and skills

This course of instruction will last four hours and require 150 rounds of carbine ammunition and 100 rounds of pistol ammunition. To prolong the safe service life of our steel targets, please do not bring green-tip, tracer, explosive, and/or armor piercing ammunition to any First Line Defense course of instruction.

You must have:

  • Familiarity with your rifle zero (i.e. 25, 36, 50, 100 yards, etc.)
  • 150 rounds of carbine ammunition (again, please do not bring green-tip, tracer, explosive, and/or armor piercing rounds)

  • 100 rounds of pistol ammunition
  • Hearing and eye protection
  • Appropriate footwear and attire for range movement in cold winter weather
  • An open heart and mind

Registration & Payment:

Precise training location will be provided via email following successful registration.

All courses of instruction require pre-payment at the time of registration. Because student space is limited, courses are filled on a first come, first paid basis. Should First Line Defense cancel this course, our staff will contact you to determine if you desire a full refund of your payment or rescheduling for a different date/time. Otherwise, your payment is 100% NON-refundable.

If you are worried about potential exposure to COVID-1984 and expecting a full refund to avoid contact with whatever the “deadly” variant du jour happens to be, please do NOT register for instruction with us. Fear of COVID-1984 is not a valid reason for a refund of any kind. Providing such a refund would not be healthy for our business and would hamper the effective learning environment we strive to create in which individuals are comfortable being around one another.

Expansion of the martial culture must continue and it’s your decision to participate or not. See you out there.
